County Assessor Tina Skinner visited with the board about the copier in her office. It is a used machine that was purchased for $2,000 in 2015. It is needing over $600 worth of work and Skinner is questioning whether it is worth putting the money into it. Century Business Products has informed her that the company is no longer making parts for this copier. Skinner is considering seeking quotes for a replacement. The board felt that looking to upgrade was the way to go.
Skinner informed the board that the recent Pictometry survey of the county had revealed a number of unused rural structures that are not on the current tax roll. The board feels that all structures must be on the tax roll regardless of their condition. In order for such structures to be removed from the tax roll they must be demolished. Skinner stated that she will be returning these structures to the tax roll.
The board discussed more on the county website options. Commissioner Krotz stated that one thing that our current website has that the MIPS website would not have is a searchable 12 year archive of commissioner minutes. Krotz stated that he uses that option several times a week. County Clerk Sindy Coburn also stated that she likes that option too.
Krotz made a motion to authorize the Officials to work with MIPS to develop a website with funding coming from Miscellaneous General Funds. Paul seconded the motion. With a roll call vote Krotz and Paul voted aye. Messersmith voted no.
Road Superintendent Kuester informed the board that a representative of CAT will be on site this Thursday to conduct a demo of the new motor grader.
