The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met in regular session and by zoom at 9:15 A.M. on June 15, 2021. Zoom ID 3358213334 Passcode 625274. Krotz and Messersmith present and Paul present by zoom. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act. This meeting was posted on the official county website and published in the Sheridan County Journal Star on June 9, 2021. Messersmith made a motion to accept the agenda. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye. Messersmith made a motion to approve the minutes of 6-9-2021 with corrections. Krotz seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Messersmith made a motion to audit and approve all claims presented to them. Krotz seconded the motion. With a roll call vote all voted aye.
The board discussed the proposed new office space for the Extension Office. Krotz informed the board that he had met with some of the Extension Staff and did a walk thru of the building. Some renovations are required and will be done by Building & Grounds Superintendent Jeff Davis. The board will wait for more information on the renovations before signing the lease agreement.
Kevin Carmody and Richard Evans of BYTES Computer appeared via zoom to provide additional information on their IT services proposal. No action taken.
Joe Headrick of Gordon appeared to inform the board of his “Constitution Oath Commitment” for the elementary education schools.
Deputy Sheriff Everette Langford reported on staffing issues. Deuel County Sheriff Scott DeCoste has been hired to assist for one weekend a month while new officers are being recruited.
Jeremey Harris of MANNA systems appeared via zoom to discuss IT issues. Harris was asked to give individual offices monthly quotes for services.
The board and clerk prepared budget worksheets.
