The December 8th workshop meeting was called to Order at 10:30 am by president Johnson. President Johnson informed those present that the Meeting Notice had been advertised Per Board Policy Publication of Hearing Notice was published in Hip Hop and Sheridan County Journal Star and on School Website the week of November 28th, 2021. President Johnson led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance and pointed out the posting of the Open Meetings Law.
Roll call was taken with the following members present: B. Johnson, G. Heiting, S. Henry, M. Reed, D. Russell, M. Kearns.
Motion to go into Closed/Executive Session for the protection of the public’s interest and to prevent needless injury to the reputation of the individuals was made by D. Russell and seconded by M. Reed. Passed 6/0
President Johnson declared the meeting in executive session at 10:35 am
Executive Work Session included conducting interview for the superintendent position for the 2022-23 school year and included the following individuals:
• Christopher Arent
• George Clear
• Mark Hagge
• Barry Schaeffer
Following the interview process, the board discussed the candidates, reviewed the community and staff input and feedback prior to selection of the superintendent candidate by the Board of Education.
President declared the meeting out of executive session at 7:10 pm
Motion to come out of Closed session was made by S. Henry and seconded by D. Russell. Passed 6/0
Motion made by M. Reed and seconded by S. Henry to have president Johnson negotiate with the selected Candidate B the terms and conditions of the contract. Passed 6/0
Motion made by D. Russell and seconded by G. Heiting to have president Johnson negotiate with the alternate selected Candidate E the terms and conditions of the contract if necessary. Passed 6/0
President Johnson Adjourned the Board Workshop at 7:13 pm.
