Paul Kruger braved the cold water to participate in the Chadron Polar Plunge on Saturday, March 3 to raise money for the Chadron Rattlers Special Olympics team.
Kruger is a Gordon-Rushville High School student who competes on the Chadron Special Olympics team. His events include bocce ball, bowling, basketball, track, and powerlifting.
There were 18 plungers who participated in the event, held in the Hilltop Lanes parking lot. The event has raised $5,400 so far in pledges with additional donations coming in. Kruger raised $310 in pledges.
Kruger was the team captain for Team Paul and said the experience was amazing although the water was cold. He has previously participated in the event to help raise money for the Rattlers.
