On Tuesday and Wednesday, August 14 and 15, John Moore walked with a cross on his back across Sheridan County on the Cowboy Trail as part of his March for Life from San Fransisco, California to Washington D.C.

Moore is on a pilgrimage to save lives and increase the number of sonograms available to women. He started his journey in San Fransisco during the West Coast March for Life. He will end his “Walk of Faith” in Washington D.C. on January 18. This is the same day that the National March for Life begins.

Moore said “I’m on a pilgrimage and am praying with every step. That’s what pilgrims do. They pray with their feet.”

Although Moore does not accept personal donations for his cause, he encourage those who share his beliefs to go to kfc.org and click on the Culture of Life tab to donate for the purchase of ultrasounds to show sonograms. An ultrasound takes the image and a sonogram is the actual image that the ultrasound produces. Moore believes that increasing the availability of sonograms will decrease the number of abortions per year.

“Eighty-six out of 100 women will keep their babies after they see it. The Knights of Columbus estimates that sonograms will save around 200,000 lives per year. That’s what I am doing - saving lives. It’s a free country and with freedom of speech, I can walk to express my beliefs. That is what I am doing.”
