Ostrander Wins All-Around World Champion Versatility Ranch Horse Title

The American Quarter Horse Association, Guthrie, Oklahoma – Stetson Ostrander of Gordon, Nebraska captured the All-Around Cowboy World Champion title at the Zoetis AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Championship Show on June 22, 2019 at the Lazy E in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Ostrander showed the American Quarter Horse BOXO Valentines Cat. The 2012 Buckskin Mare by Palo Dura Cat and out of Tracis Blue Roan, was bred by Jecca Ostrander of Gordon, NE.

Ostrander competed in six classes in the AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse Cowboy Division including Trail, Ranch Riding, Reining, Conformation, Cutting and Cow Work. Ostrander and BOXO Valentines Cat claimed top honors in the Reining, Cutting and Cow Work classes. 

Entries competed for the All-Around World Champion title and a purse of $1,826. The All-Around VRH world champion received a prize package that included a custom-designed gold trophy; sterling-silver buckle by Awards Recognition Concepts; specially designed logoed jacket and world champion patch; hat, courtesy of Shorty’s Caboy Hattery; and a neck wreath.

Additionally, the Zoetis AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals on June 23, held at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, proved to be fruitful for the Ostranders. Jecca Ostrander of Gordon, NE captured the championship title in Amateur Working Cow Horse Class on BOXO Valentine’s Cat.  Stetson Ostrander captured the championship title in the 5-6 Year Old Limited Working Cow Horse on BOXO Valentines Cat as well as the Cowboy Division on BOXO Heavens Heels. Stetson took home the Reserve Championship honors in the 4 Year Old Limited Working Ranch Horse Class on BOXO Chicas Merada. BOXO Heavens Heels is a 2014 Bay Gelding by SNW Heavens King and out of Stormy Toy, was bred by BOXO Quarter Horses of Gordon, NE. BOXO Chicas Merada is a 2014 Bay Gelding by Weavers Merada Joe and out of Freckles O Chic, was bred by Jecca Ostrander of Gordon, NE. 

Entries in all classes competed for champion honors and a money. The champion received a prize package that included a trophy and a champion buckle, by Awards Recognition Concepts. Certificates for Shorty’s Caboy Hattery hats were also presented to class winners.

BOXO Valentines Cat earned over $9,000 during her show at the AQHA Versatility as well as the Ranching Heritage Championships. 

About the Event

The American Quarter Horse Association brought together four ranch-horse shows in one great competition at the 2019 Zoetis AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Championships, Zoetis AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals, AQHA Level 1 Cattle Championships and National Ranch and Stock Horse Alliance National Championship Show. More than 350 exhibitors from around the globe competed at this event June 18-23 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
