You may have noticed a new name hanging on the outside of the car wash in Gordon. Now named Huck’s Lazerwash, the facility was purchased on June 19, 2019, by Aaron Huckfeldt.
A 2007 graduate of Gordon High School, Huckfeldt also runs his own transport company, Huckfeldt Enterprises. As someone who prides himself on keeping his vehicles clean, he said it only seemed natural to invest in a car wash. “It’s a bonus that I was able to do that in the community I graduated from,” he added.
The changes to the car wash go much further than new signage. They’ve been working hard behind the scenes to clean things up, touch up paint, add a new change machine, LED lights, security cameras and new trash cans. In the future, they are looking to add a Pepsi machine, single product vending machines, add credit card processing to the automatic bay, and an air machine with a tire gauge. They also plan to paint the bays down the road.
Huckfeldt says the most challenging part of the process has been learning the ropes and pacing himself as far as updates go. “There is much more behind the scenes of a successful car wash than one would think,” he said.
Despite all the work, the endeavor has still been a rewarding one thanks to all of the support from the community and positive comments on their updates. “The community support has been overwhelming and is greatly appreciated,” he added.
They are also happy to host community and school fundraisers and support local community groups in any way they are able.
Huck’s Lazerwash is located at 220 E Highway 20 in Gordon and features an automatic wash bay, two manual wash bays and vacuums with spot remover and carpet shampoo.
