As the calendar turns over to a new year, many people set resolutions to help improve their lives and health.
And here in Rushville, Hannah Graham is putting another tool in the tool belt for citizens who want to improve their health and wellness.
Graham, who lives south of Rushville with her family, is set to open Timberline Health and Fitness on January 15, 2022. The location of the fitness center is at 111 Loofbarrow Street in Rushville.
A Health and Fitness center was not always the plan for Graham but her love for running and working out drew her back to an idea she had been tossing around for some time.
“I had started chewing on this idea, 5 to 6 years ago,” said Graham.
“I love to work out and I started looking into it. This time the stars fell into alignment and this building became available,” she added.
Graham is originally from south-central Minnesota but while pursuing a career in social work, took an internship at Red Cloud Indian School just north of Pine Ridge, S.D.
While here for the internship, she met her husband Luke, and the pair married and put down their roots in Sheridan County.
Graham is currently the Director of Social Services and Finance at Parkview Lodge Assisted Living in Rushville in addition to owning Timberline.
She hopes to keep continuing to have a positive affect on the community with the opening of this facility.
“The mission statement would be to run a sustainable space for our citizens in our community and our area to grow into their best selves,” said Graham.
“Often fitness industries can fall into a toxic cycle, I don’t want that, I want people to find a space where they can be their best selves and find their strength that’s in them,” she adds.
“I hope, like any business, to create social capital in our community and create another reason for people to come to Rushville,” continues Graham.
“Maybe after a workout they stop by the grocery store to buy their milk and cheese, maybe they make an appointment to get a hair cut, maybe they grab a latte when they get done with yoga class. It’s more people, it’s more foot traffic, and it’s more money in our economy,” adds Graham.
Timberline Health and Fitness will offer a cardio room, weight lifting machines, free weights, and a few specialty classes for members to utilize. Some services are still in the works and will be added in the near future.
The gym will be open 4:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. Members will be able to utilize a entry system that will provide access for members through three different routes.
Members will be able to enter a key code, they also can use a key fab to scan themselves into the door, or can use their cell phone to scan for entry. Options for membership include both yearly and monthly pricing.
The monthly rate is $30 per month. For yearly memberships, Graham is offering a discount if you sign up before January 15.
The rate for a single person is $300 and $600 for couples at the special rate. After January 15, it will $330 for an individual and $650 for a couple annually.
To get signed up, interested individuals can call or text Hannah on her cell phone at (308) 207-5071.
There is also a Facebook page available under the name of Timberline Health and Fitness that will be utilized in sharing pertinent information in the future.
“These little towns like Rushville are such a magnificent beautiful presence but we need to fight for them. We need to push and support ourselves and create the resources that we want to have,” says Graham.
