Four Veterans receive their Quilt of Valor in Hay Springs

On Wednesday, April 26, four Veterans were honored at a small ceremony hosted at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs, Neb.
Truman Powell, Harold ‘Deek’ Dierkson, Charles Cornett, and James Kerns were all honored for their service to country with each handmade quilt.
Specialist Second Class Truman Powell served in the United States Army beginning in 1963 and honorably discharged in 1965.
Harold ‘Deek’ Dierkson served in the United States Navy beginning in 1952. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1956.
Charles Cornett was a Specialist 5 in the United States Army. Cornett entered the Army in 1957 and was honorably discharged in May of 1962.
James Kerns was a Specialist 4 in the United States Army serving from 1964 until his release in 1969.
The Quilts were constructed the Quilt of Valor Foundation and delivered with thanks for the service of the four Veterans in attendance.
