Nebraska Gubernatorial candidates debate in Hyannis

The seven candidates vying to be Nebraska’s next governor met in Hyannis on Monday night to answer questions and outline their political philosophies.  The event was sponsored by the Nebraska Cattlemen, the Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska and the Nebraska Farm Bureau and was moderated by 43rd District senator, Al Davis.

Brewer challenges Smith for Congress

KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - A former Nebraska Army National Guard soldier is launching a tough new mission to unseat the Republican congressman who represents the western two-thirds of the state.

Retired Col. Tom Brewer said Thursday he had decided to run against fellow Republican and incumbent Adrian Smith in Nebraska’s 3rd District.
