Shirley Louise Brownlow, age 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January, 29, 2013, at her home with family by her side. She was bornFebruary 10, 1939, Craig, Colorado to Herman and Iva Eberle. She was the fourth of six children.
On February 8, 1966, she married John “Chester” Brownlow in Colorado, and moved to the sandhills south of Merriman, where they worked on the Minor Ranch. She was a loving mother and a housewife. They opened their hearts and home to many young people during the summer. Shirley became known as Aunt Shirley to one and all.
After Chester’s death in 1999, she moved to Gordon, Nebraska. She volunteered for a time at the Thrift Center and then later at the Senior Center. She enjoyed various activities with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband “Chester”, brother Tom Eberle, sisters, Almeda Crowell and Josie Jean Curtis.
Shirley is survived by her son Randy Brownlow, of Alliance, NE, her daughter, Nancy Brownlow of Gordon, granddaughter Emma Brownlow ofAlliance, NE, brothers, Don Eberle of Grand Prairie, TX, John Eberle of Jay, OK, brother-in-law, Pat Crowell of Bixby, OK, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Graveside services were held Friday, February 1, 2013, 2:00PM, at Beaver Valley Cemetery, north of Hay Springs, NE, with Pastor Tom Peppel officiating.
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
