Phyllis B. Hamilton, 84, passed away on September 26, 2014 in Mesa, Az where she lived with her daughters Candice Hamilton Felts and Vicki Hamilton.
Phyllis was born May 5, 1930, in Ashby, Ne to Elsie Calame King and Lee Dow King. She graduated High School in 1948 from Chadron Prep, Chadron, Ne. On June 6, 1948, she married Alvin James Hamilton from Gordon, Ne. Alvin worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 1985.
They lived in the Sandhills and Gering, NE before moving to Cody, Wy where they lived for 27 yrs. They moved from Torrington, WY to Payson, Az in 2003.
The Hamiltons were married for 62 years and enjoyed an active lifestyle that included many years of square dancing, camping trips and snowmobiling in the
Yellowstone Park area. A member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Payson, Phyllis enjoyed church fellowship and bible study. Some of Phyllis’s hobbies included ceramics and bowling. She was a dedicated homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her kindness, beautiful smile, gentle spirit and strong faith.
Phyllis is proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by a sister, her daughters and four grandchildren; Michael Martin of Phoenix, Az, Jesse Warburton and Daniel Warburton of Scottsbluff, Ne, and Bonnie Felts Hansen of Lovell, Wy and 7 great-grandchildren. To honor her wishes, no service is planned. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
