Michael York, 68, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Chadron Memorial Hospital.  His sister, Nancy was by his side.

Michael was born in Rushville, Nebraska on November 24, 1946.  He was the first child of Mary York and Arie York.  Soon after graduation from Rushville High School he enlisted in the Air Force.  He was trained as an airplane mechanic and sent to Vietnam.  Michael died from cancer that resulted from exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam.

In addition to his sister Nancy of Bodega Bay, California, he is survived by his brother Albert of Portland, Oregon.  He is also survived by his maternal Aunt Ada Scott Neppl in Salida, Kansas, niece Marianna Reid and nephew Nathan Reid.

Michael was gentle, quiet, courteous, and very independent.  Except for his years in the Air Force he resided in Rushville his entire life.  Now at least he is at peace and without pain.

Michael will be interred with his beloved grandmother, Anna Capstick at Fairview Cemetery in Rushville.  Rest in peace dear brother (from Nancy)
