Jim was born on March 12, 1941, to Bessie and Doug Borman.
He died in the hospital in New York City on Oct. 2, 2016, from complications of a stroke. Jim grew up and attended school in Gordon, Neb. He was active in Thespians and the arts. Jim was a member of Saint Leo’s Catholic Church. He graduated from Gordon High School in 1959. Jim attended Regis University and graduated from DU in 1963, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He spent summers in high school and college acting and working in theatre in the Black Hills Playhouse productions.
Jim moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career and eventually moved to New York City to continue his love of acting. He worked for several years at Merrill Lynch. Jim appeared on television, in print and theatre. Also, he acted on soap operas, murder train mystery trips and in commercials. Jim taught acting and had a manuscript editing business. He enjoyed traveling, photography, all of the arts and attending theatre productions. He was a religious man.
His father, Doug Borman and mother, Bessie Borman, precede Jim in death. His brothers John and Jerry Borman and Jerry’s wife Jan and his sister Jan Mink survive Jim. Seven nieces and nephews, many cousins and dear friends also survive him. Interment is at the Gordon Cemetery and a graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. on June 24, 2017.
