Evelyn C. Tyndall

Rancho Bernardo – Evelyn C. Tyndall, 91, passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. She was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Clinton, Neb., to Walter and Mary Strong.

Evelyn attended Rushville High School in Rushville, Neb., and afterwards worked in Los Angeles during WWII in a war factory soldering circuit boards for bombers. She married Mack E. Tyndall in 1947 and lived in Santa Monica and then in Van Nuys for many years.

Mrs. Tyndall was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband’s paint contracting business for 30 years. In the early 1980s, they moved to San Diego County and built their dream retirement home off Highland Valley Road and grew avocados. After 50 years of marriage, Evelyn moved to Ranch Bernardo for the remainder of her life. She loved all animals and was a member of most societies protecting pets, birds, and other wildlife. Animals were attracted to Evelyn, and she had many pets of various kinds during her lifetime. She lived alone in her own house, remaining active and independent her entire lifetime.

Mrs. Tyndall is survived by her niece Sandra Strong of Rancho Bernardo, her nephew and his wife, Wayne and Ann Strong of Valley Center, her nephew Vernon strong of Spring Valley, and many more nieces and nephews spread out across the U.S.A.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mack Tyndall, and all her eight brothers and sisters.

Evelyn was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend, preparer of delivious meals, ever learning about nature, and a wise woman. Her little dog companion, Irie will miss her. Her family and friends will miss her.

Interment was at Eternal Hills, Oceanside next to her husband Mack.

Visitation and viewing was on Monday, August 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside, Calif. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, at Eternal Hills Memorial Park Chapel.
