Lisa Lorena DeBoer, the daughter of Robert and Sandra (Stevenson) Farmer was born on August 9, 1966 in Butler, PA. She lived in Butler until her mother (Sandra) moved herself and her 2 daughters to Porcupine, SD in 1979. After residing in Porcupine for a year this small family moved to Gordon, NE where her mother met Lester Reese. This was the start of Lisa’s small family of 3 extending to a family of 8 by joining her with 4 more siblings, (Jennie, Sherry, Scot, and Bill). She attended school and graduated from Gordon Public School.
Lisa lived most of her life in Gordon where she had overcome many medical problems starting at the early age of 10. She overcame these obstacles by proving doctor’s wrong when they said she would never walk or be able to have children.
In August of 1987 Lisa and James Young were united in marriage. From this marriage they were blessed with a daughter Kathryn Lorena Young in November of 1988. Lisa worked as a tax accountant and office manager at H & R Block for 18 years.
During Lisa’s life she became a person that many people would turn to for different things and Lisa would always be willing to help. Lisa had a sick sense of humor (as she called it) from calling her loved sister Kissyfer to playing many jokes on friends and family. She was always there to listen to any problem or offer advice when needed. She became a mother to many of her daughter’s friends as well as others. She was always willing to extend a helping hand to those who needed. Emma Martian her daughter by love and Johnathon her nephew being two people she took under her wing.
In October of 2007 Lisa met Dwight DeBoer. She always said that Dwight was her soul mate. Lisa and Dwight were united in marriage on May 23, 2009 at their home at Akron, NE. With this union Lisa’s family life grew even bigger. She was then blessed with four more children (Chad, Nic, Ryan, and Kayla).
Lisa’s family had grown from a small family to a much larger one. She had a heart that could give all her family more than enough love and still have room for more. She was so proud to be able to tell everyone that she had 13 grandchildren.
Lisa leaves behind: her husband Dwight of Akron, NE; three daughters: Kathryn (Nick) Saari of Greeley, CO; Nic (Jason) Hoff of Omaha, NE; Kayla (Rod) Doffin of Winside, NE; two sons: Chad (Tiffany) DeBoer of Lincoln, NE; Ryan (Lindy) DeBoer of Hoskins, NE; 13 grandchildren: Hunter, Ty, Addison, Lauren, Nolan, Mason, Carter, McKenzie, Hayle, Cole, Leighton, and two arriving soon; sister Kristie (Roy) Peterson; mother-in-law Marie DeBoer of Walthall, NE; along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; brother Scot Reese, and close friend Kory Coon.
Lisa had touched many different people’s lives and never realized the impact she had. She will be missed dearly by many people.
