Thomas Allen King, 67, of Fairfield, a retired mechanic, died of cancer on September 28 at Benefis Health Care. Family is planning a dinner for a later date. Cremation will take place under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory.
Thomas was born May 13, 1944 in Alliance, NE and graduated high school in Rushville, NE. On April 3, 1970 he married Karen King. Thomas received numerous medals and badges for his time served with the Army in the Vietnam War, including the Aricraft Crewman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. His love for old cars and motorcycles carried him throughout his civilian career, working at Lee’s Motorcycle and Slack Cycle in Cheyenne, WY as well as Great Falls’ Power Co Op. In 1978 Tom opened his own business, Special Interest Motors, where he worked until retirement in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Karen King of Fairfield, mother Addis King of Rushville, Nebraska, daughter Trish King of Fairfield, son Keith King of Fort Smith, Arkansas, brothers Dennis King of Alliance, Nebraska and Jack King of Rushville, Nebraska, as well as four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Claude King.
