Arlin Eugene Lowe was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Gordon, Neb., to Sidney E. and Neola (Emily) Lowe. He passed away Feb. 15, 2018, at Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tekamah, Neb., at the age of 82.
He graduated from Gordon High School in 1953. After one year of college, Arlin joined the United States Army, and served for three years. After his discharge, he returned to college and graduated from Chadron State College in 1963. He attended college in Oklahoma during the summers and received his Master’s Degree in Mathematics in 1969.
Arlin taught industrial arts and math in Palisade, Neb. He then moved to Tekamah in 1966, and taught math there for the next 29 years. A math scholarship was established in Arlin’s name for seniors in 2007.
On Dec. 27, 1968, Arlin married Geraldine “Gerry” Harris. Arlin and Gerry spent many enjoyable summers at their cabin at Harbor 671 off the Missouri River boating, fishing and mushroom hunting with friends and family. Arlin was an avid fisherman, gardener and gun instructor. He spent many hours working on woodcrafts and remodeling his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sid and Neola Lowe and wife, Geraldine.
He is survived by sister, Karol (Duane) Lockmon of Rushville, Neb.; brother-in-law, Jerold (Janet) Harris of Parkville, Mo.; sister-in-law, Sharon Harris of Gordon; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends who he loved dearly.
Memorial Gathering: Friday, February 23, 2018, 5 to 7 p.m., at Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah with Masonic Service at 7 p.m.
Burial: Saturday, February 24, 2018, 11:30 am, at the Gordon Cemetery, Gordon, Neb.
