Hyle Jay Kutschara

Hyle Jay Kutschara, 83, of Hay Springs, NE died on October 9, 2018 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs.

His celebration of life will be Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chadron Seventh-Day-Adventist Church, 602 Bordeaux Street.

Hyle was born December 19, 1934 to Charles and Louise (Vanbuskirk) Kutschara in Hay Springs, NE.  He grew up on the farm north of Hay Springs with his sister Mary Lou.  He attended Hay Springs High School and attended Union College in Lincoln.

Hyle married Marilyn Kranz from Oconto, NE on June 23, 1957, in Hay Springs, NE. Hyle and Marilyn had two sons Chuck and Carl.

Hyle became a member of the Hay Springs Seventh-day- Adventist Church in 1944.

Hyle lived and farmed north of Hay Springs most of his life, primarily growing wheat. He started out farming part time, with his father, while working for the Agriculture, Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) office in Rushville for 19 years.  After retiring from the ASCS office he farmed full time. In his spare time you would often find him at Riis Equipment, the Case dealership in Rushville, visiting or working at assembling equipment.

Hyle was not a person that left home very often but would occasionally visit his sister Mary Lou wherever she was living and teaching at the time.  Hyle and Marilyn would occasionally vacation with Marilyn’s brother Dwain and wife Delores Kranz.  Their longest trip was to Padre Island, Texas.

Hyle was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Louise Kutschara, brother, Charles Lee that died in infancy, and sister, Mary Lou. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Chuck and daughter-in-law Alice, son Carl and daughter-in-law Shauna, 5 grandchildren (Jared, Jonathan (Mandi), Jesse Child (Ryan), Scout and Aran), and 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established for the Hay Springs Fire and Rescue services.
