Mary Carolyn Lundquist Butler, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. Carolyn, or “Nana” as she was called most commonly, was born August 15, 1945, in Lynch, Nebraska, to Theodore and Marjorie Lundquist. After raising her family in Gordon, Neb., she moved to Colorado. She owned her own business, Log Cabin Liquor, in Berthoud, Colorado, until retiring at age 55 and moving to Bella Vista. Nana was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista and of the Democratic Women’s Association. She also enjoyed volunteering with CASA and the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter. She enjoyed time with her family above all things. Fishing, spending time with children and being outdoors as often as possible were at the top of her list. Nana is welcomed in Heaven by her parents, her husband Marvin Butler and her sons Ted and Rick Butler. She leaves a large family to celebrate her life; her children, Todd and Liz Butler of Rogers, Dale Butler of Omaha, Neb., Troy Butler and Dorry McGriff of Bella Vista and daughter-in-law Toni Siders of Gordon, Neb., her grandchildren, Jerry and Cory Butler, Teddi Muirbrook, Bobby, Crystal and Chad Elson, Dawn Pabst and Kelly Fushia, Ashley Mayhew and Spencer and Mitchell Butler, Jennifer and Kaylie McGriff and Jonah Butler, and 13 fabulous great grandchildren.
Services to honor Nana were held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter in her name.
