William (Bill) Hensley, 73, passed away on February 20, 2022 at his home in Montrose, Colorado. He was born on April 24, 1948 in Rushville, Nebraska to Ganz and Betty (Haslow) Hensley.
Bill grew up in Gordon and graduated from Gordon High School in 1966. After high school, he moved to Denver and joined the Army National Guard from 1970-1976. He worked for and later invested in two Firestone Tire stores, one in Aurora and one in Cheyenne.
In 1977, Bill married Jeanne Martin. They had four children, Rebecca, Stephen, Benjamin, and Lisa. He divorced in 1986. Bill was a very caring man. While living in Denver, he adopted a Vietnam refugee family of 6, the Hang family.
Bill moved his family to Montrose, Colorado in 1981. From 83-86, he worked for MidWestern Colorado Mental Health Center as a counselor. Then in 1987, Bill spent the next 28 years working for Community Options Inc. as a Day Program Manager.
Bill married Mary Raff in 1988. They celebrated 33 years of marriage. In 1993, they had a daughter Krystal. Bill enjoyed working on cars, boating on the local lakes, and watching Krystal participate in rodeo events.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Ganz and Betty Hensley and daughter Rebecca.
Bill is survived by his wife Mary (Raff) Hensley, his daughter Krystal Parker (Patrick) of Walters, Oklahoma, children Benjamin, Stephen, and Lisa, brother John Hensley of Jesup, Georgia and brother David (Chick) Hensley of Gordon.
A memorial service will be held at the Community Options Inc in Montrose on March 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
