Kevin John Valaika, 69, of Lincoln, died May 4, 2022 in Lincoln. Born December 3, 1952 in Rushville, Nebraska to Raymond & Alice (Jarman) Valaika. Graduated from Gordon High School, Gordon, Nebraska in 1971. Veteran US Army, inducted 7-25-72. Served 3 years active duty with 18 months in Seoul, Korea, and 18 months in Washington DC. Discharged from Army Reserve 7-18-78. Married Mary L. (McCrory) on August 26, 1978. Retired from United Parcel Service in 2011 after 34 years of service.
Member VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and UPS Teamsters United. He was a Master gardener and landscaper. Antiques collector, restorer, and dealer. Loved fishing, camping, hunting and was a sports fan.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary L. Valaika; children Christopher Valaika (Margo), grandchildren Alyse and Wyatt, and Stephanie Valaika Gengler (Adam), grandchildren, William, Sam, Catherine, Anna; brother Michael Valaika (Vicki) niece & nephew Drew & Paige Valaika; brother John Valaika, (Christine) niece & nephew Michael Valaika (Jennifer) & Michelle Valaika Rives, great nieces Kathleen and Rachel; sister Catherine Pollard (Jerry), niece Jenna; brother-in-law Timothy McCrory (Debbie), nieces and nephews Michael (Carrie), great nephew Shane; Megan Pelier (Billy) great nephews Billy & Sam; Kathleen Howlett (Stuart), great nieces and nephews Cole, Evelyn, Tenley; Matthew McCrory (Renee), great nieces and nephews Aiden, Graham, Harper; Patrick McCrory (Shelby), great nephew Nathanial; brother-in-law Kevin McCrory (Cindy), nieces Caitlin Talbert (Alex); Kerry Roberts (Matthew); brother-in-law Dennis McCrory (Melissa), nephews Kyle McCrory, and Matthew McCrory (deceased); brothers-in-law James McCrory & Shawn West; sister-in-law Beth Bartels (Greg), nieces Kacy and Claire.
