James (Jim) Thomas Gold of Cottonwood, AZ, passed away on August 5, 2021.
Jim was born in 1950 in Puerto Rico into a Navy family and lived most of his life in the Northwest. He met his wife, Christine (Barth) in Eugene, OR and they married a year later.
Chris was originally from Rushville and brought Jim to visit the area numerous times. Jim fell in love with the area and took every opportunity to come visit Chris’ family and to hunt birds with his beloved dogs. He loved it here so much that he made his wishes known that he wanted to be buried in Chris’ family plot in Rushville.
Jim was a huge outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping which he and Chris did often. Jim worked in construction for many years and one of his most proud achievements was to build homes for Habitat for Humanity in Arizona.
Jim was a very loving, caring, generous and interesting man. Though we are heartbroken, we know Jim is with his Savior.
Jim is survived by his wife, Christine (Barth) Gold; his daughter, Sarah; two grandchildren; sister, April (Jim); brother-in-law, Doug Barth (Tonia); sister-in-law Kathy Barth (Ken); and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a joint graveside service for Jim and his brother-in-law, Bob Barth, on October 18th at 1:00 at the Rushville Fairview Cemetery. All are welcome.
