Gary E. Wagner, son of Edward and Shirley (Kasik) Wagner, was born April 19, 1955, at Norfolk, Nebraska. He graduated from Creighton High School. Gary was united in marriage to Kathy Lamprecht on January 6, 1979, at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton, Nebraska. They were blessed with five children, Kari, Kylee, Kirby, Kasey, and Kory.

Gary lived in the Creighton and Winnetoon areas throughout his lifetime. He grew up on the family farm, raising cattle, hogs, and sheep, which he continued doing until the time of his death. Gary treasured the years he delivered feed to farmers and the friendships he made with them over the years.

His passion for livestock ran deep. Gary instilled his love for livestock in his children, while teaching them life lessons along the way. He passed on his knowledge of raising quality livestock and showing animals for 4-H and FFA at the county and state level. He also mentored local youth with their livestock projects. You would usually find Gary ringside evaluating livestock and encouraging the young participants. Gary enjoyed going to livestock shows and the Nebraska State Fair, otherwise known as the family vacation. He was a former member of the Knox County Fair Board and served as the livestock supervisor.

Gary had a great sense of humor and quick wit that will long be remembered, and sarcasm was always thrown in. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and cherished the time he was able to spend with them. Gary also enjoyed Husker and Bulldog sports and followed the teams closely.

Gary was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church and was a 3rd and 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy of Creighton, Nebraska; children, Kari (Greg) Ebel of Verdigre, Nebraska, Kylee (Casey) Hinn of Lakeside, Nebraska, Kirby (Jared) Roffers of Gordon, Nebraska, Kasey Wagner and Kory (Rylee) Wagner of Winnetoon, Nebraska; grandchildren, Zachary and Garrett Ebel, Brooks Hinn, Jackson, Jake, and Kole Roffers, and Kaylee Wagner; siblings, Jeff (Rhonda) Wagner of Creighton, Cindy (Craig) McGuigan of Wahoo, Nebraska, Kevin (Lisa) Wagner of Albion, Nebraska, Karen (Terry) Papa of Linwood, Nebraska, and Maribeth (Keith) Nelson of Plainview, Nebraska; parents-in-law, Beverly (Don) Eggen of Bloomfield, Nebraska; and sisters-in-law, Konnie (Bill) Thiele of Bloomfield, Nebraska and Kristi Jo (Scott) Hauger of Wausa, Nebraska.
