Dorothy Loraine Robbins Lowder

Dorothy Loraine (Robbins) Lowder was born October 29, 1946, to Edwin and Wilma Robbins in Gordon, Nebraska. Dorothy was third of 14 children. She passed away on July 30, 2020 at Pineview Good Samaritan in Valentine, Nebraska. Visitation were held Friday, August 7, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bennett County Funeral Service in Martin, South Dakota. The service was held Saturday, August 8, at 10 a.m. at the new legion in Martin, South Dakota, to be followed by interment at the Martin Community


Donald L. Coon

Donald L. Coon, age 96 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, died on April 7, 2020, at Scottsbluff.

Kenneth George Tausan

Kenneth George Tausan of Ogallala, Neb., died Sunday February 2, 2020, at the North Platte Care Center in North Platte, Neb.

At the time of his passing Kenneth was 81. He was born on June 20, 1938, in Rushville, Neb., to Kenneth C. and Joella Waddill Tausan.

Kenny was a true cowboy, one of a kind and very much a part of a dying breed. He filled his 81 years with adventure, art, friends and family.  He could do just about anything and did during his story filled time on earth. From riding


Marty Kay (Evans) Osentowski

Marty Kay (Evans) Osentowski was born May 21, 1963, in Rapid City, S.D. to Marion and Berteen (Trask) Evans. She passed away suddenly July 18, 2020.  

Marty moved to the Sandhills in 1977, and her love for the area kept her here.  She married Gaylen Osentowski on December 2, 1984. On March 17, 1991, they welcomed their son Kolt.  

One would be hard-pressed to think of a time when Marty did not have at least one dog.  She loved her dogs, horses, playing golf, and watching


Michael Dean Bayliss

Michael Dean Bayliss passed away at the age of 53 on June 13, 2020, in Carson City, Nevada. 

Mike was born on February 11, 1966, in Gordon, Nebraska.

There will be a celebration of life at the Gordon Cemetery on Friday, July 24, at 10:00 a.m. along with graveside rites.

Shelli L. Smith 59, of Alliance, Neb., passed away at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard, Neb., on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

Robert D. Higgs

Robert Duane Higgs passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 3, 2020. He was 86 years old.

Robert was born in Rushville, Nebraska, on February 21, 1934.

Arlene Lloyd

Arlene Lloyd, age 91, passed away April 26, 2020, at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs.

She was born October 23, 1928, in Hay Springs to Amil and Opal Novotny. She married Lucian (Bud) Lloyd October 6, 1947. Arlene and Budd lived for many years in Alliance. She worked at Woolrich until her retirement.

Arlene is survived by her daughter Delilah Belina, Granddaughter Carmalee and grandson Russell and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.


Doris Tallon

Doris Tallon passed away peacefully May 2, 2020, at Pioneer Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Doris was born January 1, 1931. She was the second of eight children born to Everett and Margaret Colwell (Kearns).

She lived most of her childhood years in the White Clay area. She attended elementary at the Extension School and attended high school at Rushville High School graduating in 1949. · After graduating she taught at a one-room school near Hay Springs for three years. She married

Reece Val Malles, 81, of Gordon, Neb., passed away Friday, May 1, 2020, at Centennial Park Care Facility in North Platte, Neb.

Leslie Ann Malles, 76, of Gordon, Neb., followed Reece over the great divide to their eternal resting place Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Centennial Park, also.

Reece was born July 12, 1939, to John Reece Malles Jr. and Nora Mary Chiole Malles in Durango, Colo.

Forrest Leonard Nelson

Having had ninety well lived years, Forrest Leonard Nelson passed away April 26, 2020, at Gordon Memorial Hospital. Forrest was born to Marvin Earnest (Stub) and Beatrice Carolyn (Iverson) Nelson at Denby, South Dakota, on October 4, 1929. Although for many years his birthday was celebrated on October 5 until his eldest sister Murial finally got him straightened out. The baby of the family, Forrest grew up with his three older siblings, Muriel, Ted, and Lyle. He attended Pleasant View School
