Marvin D. Roth

Marvin D. Roth was given life by his creator and was born July 8, 1934, in Batesland, SD. He is the oldest child of Levi and Edna Roth.

Marv entered Army active-duty March 19, 1954. After serving in Korea and completing his service in the Army Reserve he was honorably discharged February 28, 1962. 

On November 4, 1956, he married his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Marlys Suhr. Marv was blessed with the gift of three children: Adele (Kenny) Shepardson, Jill (Randy) Langemeier and Troy


Patricia Lee Harris

Patricia Lee Harris was born in Rushville Nebraska on November 3, 1948, to Keith Harris and Norma (Reid) Harris. She attended school in Gordon, Nebraska, and graduated from McHenry Illinois in 1966.  On March 8, 1969, Pat married Thomas Bermingham. To this union, three children were born – Kimberly Jo, Sean Francis and Kori Lynn. Pat worked various jobs while her children were young until she began working for the United States Postal Service. She retired as the Merriman Postmaster


Robert (‘Bob’) Henry Hollstein

Robert ‘Bob” Hollstein was born on March 11, 1924 in Hay Springs, Nebraska to Will and Elsie Hollstein, the sixth of ten children. 

Bob passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2021 in McAllen, Texas at the age of 97 due to pulmonary disease after a short period of declining heath. His wife Joy and his stepdaughter, Kimberly, were at his side. Just a bit more than a week earlier he was still riding his bicycle once or twice a day. He loved to stay active with biking and


Linford "Lin" Mockerman

Linford “Lin” Adam Mockerman, 88, of Pierre, SD, died October 10, 2021, at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre. Per his wishes there will be no services at this time.

Linford was born August 5, 1933 to Adam and Josephine (Meurisse) Mockerman in Tescott, KS. He attended school there before the family moved to Brookville, KS, where he graduated high school. Phyllis Bruns

Phyllis Marie Parks was born July 8, 1925 to John and Mary Opal Reno Parks in a small house north of Hay Springs, NE. She departed this life on Oct 16, 2021 at the age of 96.

Phyllis grew up in Beaver Valley north of Hay Springs, where she and her parents, grandmother and uncle lived in a small house they built on land homesteaded by her grandmother. She attended elementary school at the South Beaver School where she walked to school across the hills. Phyllis attended Hay Springs High School


Virginia Rae Lenhart

Virginia Rae Lenhart, 91, of Scottsbluff, passed away October 14, 2021 at the Western Nebraska Veterans Home in Scottsbluff.  Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6:30 pm on Sunday, October 17, 2021 with a Rosary at 6:30 PM at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Gering with Father Mike McDonald officiating.  Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery near Minatare.&nbsp


Gary M. Frye

Gary M. Frye, age 86, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior Jesus and was greeted by his wife Kaye on the morning of Monday October 4th, 2021. Gary was welcomed into the world by Edward & Jessie (Thompson) Frye and brothers Ted & Bruce, at the sod house on their ranch north of Arthur, NE. His grade school years were spent riding a horse to school with Doris Wilson. They shared great memories of those experiences.

Ross Young, 80, of Rushville, Nebraska passed away on July 24, 2021 at Gordon Countryside Care.  Ross was born February 3, 1941 in Minnesota to William and Dorothy (Hines) Young.  Ross was the oldest of three children growing up in Pipestone and Owatonna, Minnesota.  He graduated from Owatanna High School in 1959. Larry Ramon Goodrich, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 29, 2021 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born on June 15, 1933 in Cody, NE to George K. and Dollie A. (Nelson) Goodrich.

Larry lived in Cody and Woodlake, NE as well as Casper, WY, and then graduated from Gordon, NE HS in 1951. He continued his education at Chadron State College, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and graduated from the National Business Institute in 1961. Robert “Bob” Reutter

Robert Melvin Reutter (Bob) left his earthly home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 26, 2021.  He was born on August 17, 1927, his parents were George and Marie Reutter. They moved from Tennessee shortly before his birth to Detroit, Michigan where he spent his youth.  He graduated from East Detroit High in 1945 and was drafted into the Marines in November of 1945.  While stationed in Arlington, VA he met Hazel Norgard who was also in the Marines.
