The Lady Hawks lost a couple of very close battles last week when they fell to the Morrill Lady Lions on Tuesday 38-34 and the Bayard Lady Tigers 37-32 on Friday night. In both games, the Lady Hawks held a halftime lead but saw that slip away in the second half.
Tuesday night, the two teams were tied at 6 at the end of the first quarter, but held a slim two point lead at the half 16-14. The third quarter was the deciding factor as the Lady Hawks were sluggish out of the locker room, and the Lady Lions used an 11-4 third quarter to gain a five point lead, 25-20, with one quarter left to play. The Lady Hawks out scored the Lions in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Lions held on for the four point victory. The Lady Hawks were led by Stephanie Tlustos with 15.
