The high school rodeo team competed in two rodeos in Burwell, home of Nebraska’s Biggest Rodeo last weekend. There was a rodeo on Saturday and Sunday.
In the first rodeo on Saturday Charmayne Strong and Jessica Bragg both placed in the goat tying. Charmayne was second with a time of 9.26 seconds and Jessica was fifth with a time of 10.76 seconds. The event was won by Murphy Haun of Mitchell with a time of 9.19 seconds.
Charmayne placed seventh in the pole bending with a time of 21.979 seconds. The event was won by Jordan Hagedorn of West Point with a great run of 20.694 seconds.
Cody Darnell and his team roping pardner JT Adamson of Cody were third in the team roping with a nice run of 8.76 seconds. The event was won by Terrel Vineyard of Oshkosh and Will Frerichs of Bayard with a time of 7.78 seconds.
On Sunday in the second rodeo Charmayne placed in two events. She was seventh in the goat tying with a time of 9.75 seconds. The event was won the second day by Murphy Haun again with a time of 8.04 seconds. Charmayne was fifth in the pole bending with a time of 21.882 seconds. The event was won by Jamie Thomas of Unadilla with a nice run of 21.181.
Cody placed tenth in the tie down roping with a time of 13.31. The event was won by Peyton Holliday of Lincoln with a time of 9.53 seconds.
Next weekend it is off to Madison and Atkinson for two more rodeos.
