Regulators end season with loss to O'Neill

The Gordon Regulators came into tonight's game against O'Neill needing a big win to stay alive in the district tournament, having lost 2-0 to Taylor-Burwell-Sargent last night. O'Neill also needed the win after suffering an 11-3 loss at the hands of Atkinson.

As was the case the night before against TBS, the Regulators struggled at the plate from the start, not scoring a run until the third inning, while the Irish got things going right away, batting in three runs in the bottom of the first, and adding two more in the second. In the third inning Gordon finally got on the board with one run. O'Neill added three of their own, making the score 8-1 at the end of three.

Gordon added another run in the fourth before lightning was spotted by the umpire and a mandatory 45 minute delay was ordered. Gordon added a third run when the game resumed, but the Irish sealed the deal in the bottom of the fifth with a home run to take a ten point lead 13-3, ending the game and the Regulators season.
