The Hay Springs Hawks football team travelled to Wallace Wednesday, Nov. 6, to take on the Wildcats in a second round playoff game. Despite the Wildcats being seeded 1st in the bracket, the Hawks played very well, keeping the score close until midway through the third quarter. As the second half wore on, Hay Springs gave up some big plays to the Wildcats and quickly found themselves down multiple scores. The Hawks came back toward the end, but didn't have enough time to make up the deficit, finally falling 48-28. The Hawks were plagued by penalties and a seeming lack of penalties called on the opposition and they played much better than the score indicates.
