OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska and Creighton earned seeds for the 64-team NCAA volleyball tournament that opens this weekend.
The Cornhuskers (26-4) are No. 4 seed and play Harvard (15-10) in Lincoln on Friday night. Their match at Devaney Sports Center will be preceded by Kansas State against Wichita State. The winners of those matches meet Saturday night for a bid in the Lexington (Kentucky) Regional.
Creighton (25-8) is the No. 16 seed and will open in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, against Coastal Carolina (25-4). North Carolina-Wilmington will play host North Carolina afterward. The winners play Saturday for a spot in the San Diego Regional.
Nebraska starts the tournament at home for the 12th straight year.
The national semifinals and final are at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha on Dec. 17 and 19.
