Mustang XC runs at 5 Rocks Amphitheater

The Gordon-Rushville Mustang Cross Country team continued their 2021 campaign with the annual trip to the 5 Rocks Amphitheater in Gering to compete.

Sophomore Tyrah American Horse led the Mustang girls in the meet. American Horse finished in 12th place overall with a time of 23:12.29. This was over a minute and a half better than her time in the 2020 season.

Senior Brenna Bostock finished in 21st place with a time of 24:44.54 and fellow senior Shawna Shadbolt finished in 31st place with a time of 26:55.69.

Senior Eden Funk, sophomore Lillee Schmidt, and freshman Iris Clark each competed in the Junior Varsity portion of the girl’s meet.

Sophomore Allan Tullis was once again the lone participant for the boy’s team. Tullis finished in 20th place with a time of 21:47.94. 

The Gering meet was also the first action for the Middle School Cross Country team in 2021.

The team this year consists of  Cecilia Deavers, LaMia LaBuff, Robbie Musfelt, Jackson Roffers, Luke Lawes, Cameron Sandoz, Aiden Heiser, Christopher Swanson, and Eli Ross.
