Mustangs rally to pull off one-point win in WTC Championship

The Gordon-Rushville boys basketball team has established their dominance of the Western Trails Conference after winning their third straight conference title on a one-point come-from-behind thriller Saturday evening at the Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff. After blowing out Hemingford by 28 points in last year’s championship game, the Mustangs had to fight to the end to pull off a 45-44 win over Bridgeport to extend their streak to three.

On Saturday, January 6, the Gordon-Rushville girls basketball team traveled to Bayard to compete against the Tigers in an exhilarating basketball match-up. 

Early in the first quarter, the Bayard Tigers scored four unanswered points. The Mustangs took their first lead of the game when they scored 7 points in a row to have a score of 7 to 4. Throughout the rest of the first quarter, the score stayed fairly even. Going into the second quarter, Bayard lead 13-11. 



Mustangs wrestle at WTC, Ogallala Duals

The Mustang wrestlers’ winter break was cut short by a pair of tournaments, first Western Trails Conference January 4 in Morril, then the Ogallala Duals January 6. The Mustangs finished right in the middle of the nine-team WTC lineup with 107.5 team points.
