Andrew John (AJ) passed away November 28, 2011 at the Gordon Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 30, 1919 to parents, Fred William and Nellie E . (Lister) Jackson at North Platte. He attended a one-room school north of the Jackson Ranch. Upon graduating from eight grade, he stayed with his grandmother in North Platte and walked the twenty-some blocks to high school until his father purchased a Model A Ford as a school car. Leslie Lee Hinn, 74, of Rushville, Neb., passed away Tuesday November 29, 2011 at the Chadron Community Hospital. She was born February 5, 1937 in Funk, Neb. to L.C. and LaVerne Hungerford. She grew up in Hyannis Neb. and attended school there until her senior year. She graduated from Wilcox, Neb. high school, where she was an athlete and salutatorian of her class.

Monte Wayne Garner, 58, of Hyannis, died Friday, November 18, 2011 from injuries in a motor vehicle accident in rural Cherry County.

He was born in Gordon, Nebraska on August 31, 1953 to Nyal and Edythe (Hathorn) Garner. He grew up south of Lakeside, attended Lakeside Rural school and graduated from Alliance High School in 1972.

Howard DeWitt, 99, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. At his request, his body was donated to the Nebraska Anatomical Board for medical research.

Michael “Mike” Edward Kearns, 62, of Mitchell passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at his home. Albert Timm, from Gordon, Ne. was born on August 27, 1923 to Fred and Bertha and passed away on December 13, 2011, at the age of 88.

Albert was born and raised on a ranch southeast of Gordon. After his parents retired and moved to town, he took over the ranch in the area commonly known as Pole Creek. He was married to Dorothy N.
