Rawles, Tesch-Wolkins medal at AAU State Wrestling

Gordon-Rushville Youth Wrestlers brought home some hardware for the AAU State Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, March 9. Both Brayzee Rawles and Jameson Tesch-Wolkins finished in third place in their respective weight brackets to bring home the bronze medal.

Hawks win Sub-District, falls short against Wynot in bid for State

The stage was set for the Hay Springs Boys Basketball team as they took care of business in the opening round of the Class D2-12 Sub-District Tournament and earned a berth into the championship game. Awaiting the Hawks was a familiar foe, the Cody-Kilgore Cowboys, with a trip to District Final on the line for both teams.

Mustangs battle Bulldogs for a third time, fall short 67-49

The season got a shot in the arm for the Gordon- Rushville Girls Basketball team following their loss to Bridgeport in the Class C1-12 Sub-District. A majority of projections had the Mustangs season ending if they lost that opening round of Sub-Districts but when the dust all settled, the Mustangs received the final wild card spot and were seeded in the #13 slot.

The team finished in seventh place in Class C1 Game Day division. 24 teams competed with the Mustangs at the competition. The picture includes the student-athletes and coaches. Panhandle Premier volleyball provides another option for local athletes

This year at Gordon Rushville there has been a rise in the interest of girls sports. That includes cross country, wrestling, basketball and volleyball. The Gordon-Rushville varsity volleyball team consisted of 4 seniors this year, McKinley Grover, Haley Johnson, Skye Tausan and Trinity Taylor. Other varsity players were juniors Emma Martins, Braylynne McKimmey and Rylie Shultz. Sophomores were Addison Slama, Rowan Simonson, Mckaley Grover, Taileigh Starr, Kylie Goings, Makenna Feddersen and Reese Simonson.

Mike Trader’s Mid-America Basketball Camp

Mike Trader’s Annual Mid-America Basketball Camp will conduct eight individual sessions this summer. The overnight and commuter camps for boys and girls will be held June 30 - July 3 at Central Community College (Platte Campus) in Columbus and July 8-11 at Doane University.
